Holiday Cocktails to Keep You Merry
Happy Holidays! With the stress of holiday parties and family gatherings upon us, libations are more than necessary. So why not keep your cocktails seasonal? Try these drinks to keep you warm through all your wintry dilemmas.
For when someone brings up your non-existent love life: Ice cream helps all boy (or girl) problems go away, or so we (and men, apparently) think. You know what else helps problems go away? Alcohol. But what if I told you that the New Belguim Brewing Company recently teamed up with Ben & Jerry's to create a Salted Caramel Brownie beer? That combines both alcohol and your favorite ice cream duo for one amazing experience; don't forget to pair the beer with the ice cream of the same hybrid flavor. While chocolate and beer may not sound like your ideal combination, trust me: this beer needs to be in your refrigerator.
For when someone reminds you of your entry-level job status and claims that you don't know what the real world is like yet: A) Roll your eyes ever so subtly and B) hold this cosmopolitan. It is impossible to think a woman is immature when she is holding a cosmo. If we learned anything from Sex and the City, it's that cosmos are alluring and show maturity.
For when your younger relatives are coming: Your younger relatives will love the non-alcoholic version of this cocktail while you can enjoy the vodka-laden one for yourself. Who can resist a drink called Rudolph's Tipsy Spritzer? So make two batches and enjoy; but don't mix up the pitchers, I don't think your aunt will appreciate that.
For when you're feeling extra seasonal: You have to have eggnog at least once a holiday season. This recipe calls for extra-creamy eggnog and a lot of bourbon. You can never go wrong with bourbon because it warms you in all the right ways.
For when you want the cookies, not the calories: Gingerbread is a holiday staple, but so is looking good for that hot guy who might show up to your building's New Year's Eve party (we all know the one, that random hot guy who lives in our building that we saw once and never again. You know, the one who has a labrador puppy and dresses really well). So, I recommend drinking your gingerbread calories with this gingerbread martini so that you can be bangin' in that little black New Year's dress.
